Irish Driver Alyx Coby Returns to Random Vandals Racing for World Racing League GT Event at Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta on February 11-12th.
Irish racing driver Alyx Coby will return to US sportscar team Random Vandals Racing (“RVR”) for select events in 2023. The 18-year-old will make her 2023 debut with RVR at the World Racing League (“WRL”) GT endurance event at Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta on February 9 – 11. The event consists of a 9-hour race on Saturday and a 7-hour race on Sunday.
Alyx last raced a partial season in Danish FIA Formula 4 in 2022. She previously raced with RVR at Road Atlanta in 2022 in a BMW M2 CSR where she took her first podium on her debut. She moves up to run the BMW M4 (F82), driving with Team Principal Paul Sparta and “Ninja” Mike Kanisczak.
“It’s great to have Alyx back racing with Random Vandals again,” said Paul Sparta. “We’ll be teammates this race, so I am the fortunate one knowing how quick she is and how smartly she races. We’ll have a good time!”
Alyx is also supported by Formula Female, an initiative founded by Irish Olympian and ESkootr Rider Nicci Daly to use motorsport as a gateway to STEM careers for young girls and women.
In a packed 32 car GTO field for Road Atlanta, Alyx joins a growing list of female drivers including: Laura Hayes, Sarah Montgomery, Jessica Tracy, Loni Unser, Erin Vogel, and others.
